AUSTRALIA

The Australian education system provides primary, secondary and tertiary education. School education (Primary and Secondary) School education is similar across all of Australia with only minor variations between states and territories.

BELGIUM

Education in Belgium is regulated and for the most part financed by one of the three communities: Flemish, French and German-speaking.

Each community has its own school system, with small differences among them.

CANADA

Education in Canada is for the most part provided publicly, funded and overseen by federal, provincial, and local governments. Education is within provincial jurisdiction and the curriculum is overseen by the province.

CHINA

Higher Education in China is continuously growing, changing and developing. There are over 2,000 universities and colleges, with more than six million enrollments in total.

GERMANY

In Germany, education is the responsibility of the states (Länder) and part of their constitutional sovereignty.

Teachers are employed by the Ministry of Education for the state and usually have a job for life after a certain period.

INDIA

Education in India is provided by the public sector as well as the private sector, with control and funding coming from three levels: central, state and local.

ITALY

In Italy a state school system or Education System has existed since 1859, when the Legge Casati (Casati Act) mandated educational responsibilities for the forthcoming Italian state (Italian unification took place in 1861).

NETHERLANDS

Generally, schools in the Netherlands offer high-quality Dutch education. In the renowned global Pisa/OECD (2012) rankings for 15-year-old’s, the Netherlands’ education was ‘above average’ for mathematics (10th), and ranked 15th for reading and science.

POLAND

Education is compulsory for children from the age of 6 to 18 years old. Public schools are tuition-free; however, there are a number of paid private schools.

Kindergartens Kindergartens enroll children from the age of 3 to 6 years old.

PORTUGAL

Primary and secondary education is compulsory in Portugal. Children aged 6 are required to enrol in primary education (Ensino Básico – 1º Ciclo) where they take a spread of academic subjects through grades 1 to 4 plus personal and social education.
